Irene believes that yoga can be a powerful tool for transformation. Her journey started in the gym, where she spent several years working out obsessively and counting every calorie.

She was convinced that if she could work out enough to have the perfect body,
she would be happy, but she always felt like something was missing.

In 2012 Irene found yoga and immediately knew that she had found the missing piece - a spiritual path that could give her the tools to be a better person. At first she found herself obsessed with the physical practice, but after experiencing a bad wrist injury Irene’s focus shifted to practicing in a way that is sustainable long term. While she still enjoys intense practice, Irene has learned to value being a good person over being good at yoga asana.

Irene has studied and practices Ashtanga, Rocket, Yoga Nidra, and more. Irene’s curiosity has also taken her off the mat, and has led her to study with hand balancers, circus performers, and contortionists to expand her own knowledge and explore the capabilities of her body.

Irene now owns a donation based studio in Boulder, Colorado with her business partner Sam Vetrano. Together they lead teacher trainings all over the world, and hope to inspire and create yoga teachers and practitioners that use critical thinking and compassion as tools in their daily lives.

Dynamic Vinyasa Master Class:

This class will begin with a slowly building Vinyasa flow. There will be dynamic elements exploring and breaking down the foundations of inversions and arm balances in a fun and playful way. Modifications will be offered for those in the beginning of their yoga journey and amplifications offered for more advanced practitioners. The last past of class will be for slower hip and hamstring opening, allowing you to relax and dissolve into restorative stretches. All levels welcome, but being familiar with basic poses will help you get the most out of this practice.

Liquid Spine - Back bending Workshop:

Join Irene for this workshop to bend, twist, fold, and strengthen your body so that you can free the movement of your spine. Beginning with a discussion and meditation, you will be guided through Irene’s warm up sequence to break down different elements of spinal movement with a special focus on hip and shoulder flexibility. She will then show you her favourite drills for building spine strength and safely increasing your body’s range of motion.

All levels welcome with an open mind. This is also a perfect workshop for instructors looking for safe ways to help their students build stronger, safer backbends in their practice.

Inversion Workshop:

This workshop is focused on refining the foundation of your practice in order to build the strength and awareness to explore more advanced techniques. Irene will break down the stepping stones to a more graceful inversion practice, starting with basic drills to build the strength and flexibility required to balance on your hands and upside down.

There will be some breakdown of headstand, but expect to focus on forearm stand and handstand- working on controlled entrances and exits, as well as learning how to safely fall. Don't worry, if you're not comfortable upside down Irene will give you steps to get there. All are welcome as long as you can do dolphin pose.

Arm Balance Workshop:

This workshop is focused on creating a balance of strength and flexibility as a foundation for arm balances. Using drills to both strengthen and open the body, Irene will show you her favourite techniques for basic arm balances like plank, chaturanga, and crow and how to use them to transition. She will then show you how to build up to more advanced techniques for things like one legged crow, firefly, as well as lotus and leg behind the head variations. All levels welcome, some familiarity with crow pose will be helpful.

Slow Flow and Guided Meditation:

Beginning with pranayama and meditation, this class will be a slow flow Vinyasa with longer holds of flexibility based poses. In order to create balance, this practice will systematically open each part of the body. There will be options to intensify the practice as well as options to keep it more restorative. The last part of this class will be a Yoga Nidra style mediation to gently ease you into deeper relaxation. All levels welcome and encouraged to come.
